Cobb-Hunter has helped hundreds

May 2, 2008 - This letter is to set the record straight. I was born in Orangeburg County over 50 years ago. During that time I have seen lots of politicians come and go. They make promises and don’t deliver.

However, I want to tell you that Gilda Cobb-Hunter is different. She delivers!

In 2000 I was injured breaking up a fight between two students at Mellichamp Elementary School where I was working as an assistant teacher. Suffering from severe leg and back injuries, I have had to battle with attorneys and Workers’ Compensation to get a fair settlement. Then I called Gilda and she went to bat for me. She has talked to attorneys and the state on my behalf and for the first time things are beginning to move on my case.

I hate when people from the North who know nothing about the needs of our area move into our community and try to tell us what to do. If you think Gilda Cobb-Hunter does not serve the people in this community, you know nothing. For the record, Gilda has helped me and hundreds of others in Orangeburg County and our community is blessed to have her.
